Curriculum Goals
Achieving Excellence at Early Spark Academy
1. We learn through our senses.
We understand that every child learns in their own unique way. That's why our classrooms are designed to accommodate and support different types of learners.
We recognize that some children learn better by listening, others by seeing, and still others by doing. Our teachers will use a variety of strategies to engage all types of learners, such as visual aids, hands-on activities, and verbal instruction.
From kinesthetic learners to auditory learners, our childcare center is dedicated to helping each child reach their full potential. This helps to ensure all learners can find success in our classrooms.

2. We use the multiple intelligences learning theory.
We embrace the multi-intelligence learning theory as a way to provide enjoyable and intentional learning for our children. This theory is based on the idea that no single intelligence is more important than the others and that children learn best when all of their unique intelligence is engaged.
We recognize the importance of developing linguistic, logical-mathematical, naturalistic, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, visual-spatial, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligence in our children. Our approach to learning is designed to foster their natural curiosity and creativity, while also helping them to develop problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration.
3. We promote opportunities for rich literacy exposure.
We understand the importance of helping children develop language and executive functioning skills. We offer activities specifically designed to develop these skills, such as storytelling, role-playing, and educational games.

4. We nurture a positive,
a healthy, and balanced approach to technology.
Technology in today's society is everywhere. At Early Spark Academy, we believe that healthy exposure is essential. For certain age groups, we plan to provide a variety of intentional activities, both high-tech and low-tech, to help children learn and explore.
High-tech activities include various learning platforms, iPads, Osmo Learning Systems, and screen-free coding with Cubelets, while low-tech activities include Lego bricks, gears, and other building blocks. We believe in a balanced approach to technology and strive to give children the opportunity to engage with both high and low-tech activities.
5. We encourage collaboration, mutual respect, and trust through conflict resolution.
We understand that conflict resolution is an important part of growing up. We strive to teach children the skills to handle disagreements respectfully and healthily.
Early Spark Academy does this by teaching them to identify their own emotions, listen to the other person, and come up with a solution that works for everyone. We also encourage them to talk to a trusted adult if they need help.

6. Social skill development
Our team is trained to provide a safe environment for the children to learn and practice these skills. We believe that these skills are essential for their development, and will help them become successful, well-rounded adults. We believe that social skill cultivation is essential for a child's development and will create an environment where children can learn to interact with one another and develop a strong sense of self.
Children will have the opportunity to build relationships, practice turn-taking, and learn to negotiate with their peers. Furthermore, we work to help children develop an understanding of their own emotions and learn strategies for regulating their behavior. Through this approach, our goal is to ensure that all of our children develop the social skills necessary for success.
7. We help students develop self-esteem and confidence.
At Early Spark Academy, another one of our goals is to help children learn how to work together and to foster confidence in their abilities. We focus on developing the whole child, teaching them important life skills like problem-solving, communication, and empathy.
We also help our children develop a sense of independence, so they can take ownership of their learning and accomplish tasks on their own. At the same time, we emphasize the importance of teamwork and collaboration, so that they learn to trust and rely on each other to reach their goals.

8. Our students will value and respect one another.
We believe in teaching children to respect and value the individual, cultural, ethnic, demographic, and racial diversity of all people. We encourage children to express their opinions and listen to others with an open mind.
We also emphasize the importance of treating others with kindness and compassion. Our Academy provides activities and discussions that help children understand the importance of respect and celebrate the unique qualities that make each special. By creating a space where children of all backgrounds feel welcome and respected, we are helping to build a more tolerant and accepting world.
9. Creativity and curiosity are present in each classroom.
We seek to create an environment where children can explore, discover, investigate, and develop a natural curiosity for learning. We provide children with opportunities to observe and interact with the world around them, develop problem-solving strategies, and strengthen their knowledge of math, science, social studies, language arts, music, art, and technology.
We believe that curiosity and exploration are key components of a successful education, and we do our best to foster curiosity in our children. Through our child-centric model and intentional hands-on learning experiences, we help children cultivate an enthusiasm for learning that will stay with them throughout their lives.

10. Fine and gross motor skill development
Small fingers and bodies need exercise to do big things! We recognize the importance of developing motor skills in young children. We provide a variety of activities to help our children develop both fine and gross motor skills. Our activities include puzzles and board games for fine motor skill development, as well as outdoor games and sports for gross motor skill development.
We create an environment where children can explore and strengthen their motor skills in a safe and fun way. Arts and crafts as well as self-initiated play will help foster creativity and encourage children to use their imaginations while developing their motor skills.
