Early Spark Academy is hiring reliable, flexible, and team-oriented Assistant Teachers and Floaters to support our classrooms from infants through Pre-K.

We are a Reggio Emilia–inspired early learning center in Southfield, Michigan. Our team works together to create safe, organized, and engaging environments where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.

Assistant Teachers and Floaters are essential to the daily rhythm of our school. This role supports classroom routines, transitions, supervision, and learning experiences while helping maintain strong ratios and consistency across the center.

You may work in one classroom or move between classrooms depending on daily needs.

Infant Assistant Teacher

Support our youngest learners through nurturing care, routines, and early development.

Responsibilities

Assist with feeding, diapering, and daily care routines
Support safe sleep practices and supervision
Support documentation, daily updates, and communication through Playground
Engage infants through talking, singing, and interaction
Help maintain a clean, calm, and organized environment
Communicate with lead teachers about children’s needs

Qualifications

Experience in an early childhood classroom
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
Must meet Michigan licensing requirements (background check, etc.)

Qualifications

$16 - $20 hourly (based on experience and credentials)
Part-Time: 20-30 hours per week (with opportunity for more hours)

Toddler Assistant Teacher

Support active, curious toddlers as they build independence and explore their environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with transitions, routines, and supervision
Support children with meals, toileting, and cleanup
Support documentation, daily updates, and communication through Playground
Engage in play and conversation to support development
Help maintain an organized classroom
Reinforce expectations and routines

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or coursework in early childhood
Experience in an early childhood classroom
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
Must meet Michigan licensing requirements (background check, etc.)

Position Details

$16 - $20 hourly (based on experience and credentials)
Part-Time: 20-30 hours per week (with opportunity for more hours)

Preschool/ PreK Assistant Teacher

Support learning through hands-on exploration and classroom activities.

Responsibilities

Assist with small groups, play-based learning, and activities
Support classroom organization and setup
Support documentation, daily updates, and communication through Playground
Engage children in conversation and exploration
Help with transitions, meals, and daily routines
Reinforce expectations and classroom structure

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or coursework in early childhood
Experience in an early childhood classroom
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
Must meet Michigan licensing requirements (background check, etc.)

Position Details

Floater (Flexible Classroom Support)

Floaters support multiple classrooms throughout the day based on program needs.

Responsibilities

Move between classrooms to maintain ratios and coverage
Support routines, supervision, and transitions
Step in where support is needed most
Maintain consistency and professionalism across classrooms

Qualifications

Experience in an early childhood classroom
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
Must meet Michigan licensing requirements (background check, etc.)
